Hello and thank you for visiting. This is a community group for all Australian quilters to join or just follow. Membership is FREE and you are partnered each month and we make each other a 12 inch quilt block based on our preferences which we swap. (12.5 inches raw edge to raw edge) The emphasis of the group is on friendship and sharing. To find out more or register to join email me on quiltingblocks@hotmail.com This purpose of this blog is to chat and showcase blocks and quilts made by members, kind of like a show and tell . some finishes and June swap

I finally put together my remaining 16 stars and this is how it looks. I love it but I am going to donate it to a friend who runs a charity called Inspirational Quilts. Nancy gives kids in the Melbourne Children's Hospita. CF ward a quilt when they are diagnosed. She also donates them elsewhere in the hospital so this will go to a very worthy recpient
This weekend I have also put the last border around the first star quilt I made with my swap blocks. Think I now need to change from stars and maybe start another one for Nancy's charity. Hope no-one minds me doing that.
This is the star block I sent to Kate for June. She asked for a black and white star. As I have been doing lots of Lemoyne stars I sent her one as well.

Lovely star quilts. I love the idea of them being donated to charity too! I can see my block!

Giving quilts made with love to any needy charity is always a good thing. I sent one of my block swap quilts to the soldiers in Afghanistan via Aussie hero quilts. Your stars and colours look gorgeous together.

Like Sue I have also given one of my swap block quilt to Oz comfort quilts run by Jan Mac.

Love to see quilts going to a worthwhile charity, we have done quilts before for the Westmead Children's Hospital for children diagnosed with cancer. Keep up the good work!!
