Hello and thank you for visiting. This is a community group for all Australian quilters to join or just follow. Membership is FREE and you are partnered each month and we make each other a 12 inch quilt block based on our preferences which we swap. (12.5 inches raw edge to raw edge) The emphasis of the group is on friendship and sharing. To find out more or register to join email me on quiltingblocks@hotmail.com This purpose of this blog is to chat and showcase blocks and quilts made by members, kind of like a show and tell . Almost June - Time to swap

By now most of us should have completed our May blocks and have posted them to our grateful recepients.  Its exciting to see the interpretation of your request from someone else.  I have done 3 swaps for the month of May one with each or our new members, Teena, Cathy and Maree.  Now to partner you up and hope to get some more members for me to swap with in June.  If anyone is interested in joining up email me to register its fun and easy.   Here is a block I made for Alicia, one of my members with my USA group which inspired me to start up an Australian one.

Blocks for May

As I have 2 new members for the month of May therefore I have made each of them a block for their first month, so I guess in reality I do a swap with a new member as they join. Mary requested Jacobs ladder in autumn tones.
My other new member for May is Cathy that requested a dissapearing 9 patch also in autumn tones, must be the season for autumn tones. I hope both ladies like their blocks.

My sewing room

For those of you that are interested here is where I do my best work. A few shots of my sewing room, fabric stash, planning board and so on. I try to keep it tidy but you know how it is.

Teenas block for May

Here is the block I have made for Teena, will pop this in the mail to her tonight.
Teena is the first person to join me in this group, so a very exciting block to get underway.
As we go through this journey we can share photos of blocks sent and received and when we all get enough blocks to make up a quilt how fabulous to show that off too!
