August Swap from Deb

I had a wonderful partner for August. Deb made me a block and sent it off but we think Australia Post sent it on a Gap Year Overseas as it still hasn't arrived. Not only did Deb make me a 2nd block but she put fabric in the parcel too (my favourite Lynette Anderson). Thank you so much Deb.

A Little Behind...

But I am catching up...
so much has been happening in my life this year and the last 3 months have been hectic...
our eldest daughter's wedding in early May
a grandchild at the end of May
and living 7 hours away the driving is intense
then we sold our sheep property
and moved mid July
then the day we moved my MIL was rushed to hospital
and spent the next 2 and a half months in hospital
she ended up with open heart surgery and nearly didn't survive the after math
during that time the new grandchild had to have major surgery then a smaller op two weeks later
plus we were trying to unpack
now we have our youngest daughter getting married this weekend
but I have been catching up with my swap blocks
and only have one more to do out of four...
first my August partner was
Alison
and she had two wish choices and I chose the string block
white one side and blues the other...
 second my September partner Michell
and she wished for an Ohio Star block in white and red...
for October I have two partners
first is Sharyn and she wished for any star on a blue background...
now all I need to do is the second partner for this month...

October

Our October swap is complete.
I received this lovely Monkey-Wrench block from
 Elizabeth K In Australia.

This is the block that I sent her
She asked for any block, any colors.
I did a lil-research and I learned that she does some childrens
work so I sent a colorful block that would be fun to look at!
I do hope it works in well with her collection.

Hope this picture is okay
my girls had hung it to take outside for a lil-better lighting.
Blessings~

October blocks for Erin

Erin requested a star block - the top block gave me the opportunity to try paper-piecing. The second block was a positive-negative version of Ohio Star I had wished to stitch for some time. I hope these stars fit in well with your other star blocks. Kerry B (Queensland0

October block sent and received

This block is heading to Jan in Australia. Hope she likes it.
The fabric is of actual ocean waves in shades of blue.

This is what she did for me. I love them.
I was surprised to see I had gotten not one but two blocks.
Thank you Jan.

June swap

This beautiful star came in the mail yesterday from Kate who was my June partner. Poor Kate got a bit caught up and was running a bit behind, life does get in the way sometimes but she let me know and I am very happy with the block that arrived. The card with the butterflies is very special too.... I love butterflies! Thanks Kate, great swapping with you.

Perfect log cabin

There has been a bit of chatter in our groups fb page about quilters casche log cabin not measuring up. it's been awhile since I have had to make one so was pleased that my partner this month had a log cabin as her choice so I could "road test" the pattern.

This is for Pauline who wanted it in blues, purples and pinks, and loved batiks, so I put a bit off all of it into the mix.

First here is the finished block under my 12.5 inch square ruler, pretty much spot on.

And here is a look at it without the ruler... I measure at every round and trim slightly if required. Also using a quarter inch foot helps keep it all on track..

Squishy mail from Sweden & Adelaide ♥

We don't have a mail delivery; my husband collects the mail twice a week; how exciting when I got 2 squishy parcels both with extra's ♥. The first from my Sept partner in Sweden Carin - a block for me and one for my DD....

The second parcel was from Sue. Sue has already posted the block she sent me but I'll post again (as it's gorgeous) plus she sent an orphan (that's also beautiful); how lucky am I..
