Reminder on block size

Hi ladies,

Just a gentle reminder that your finished blocks should be 12.5 inches, square- raw edge to raw edge so when they are put together in a quilt they measure 12 inches.

Some ladies are receiving beautifully made blocks that are 12 inches or less wide which means that they are unable to use them in the friendship swap quilts - very disappointing.  Please measure your blocks before you send them off- there are rulers/ templates available in the 12.5 inch size which would be handy if you are making a lot of this sized blocks.  I may look into getting one of these for myself.

Quilted hugs, Sue

Such a shame - perhaps the recipients can add a small frame/narrow sashing in order to use the blocks?

I have the very 12 1/2 inch ruler in your picture and it's been invaluable for the swap - couldn't do without it and well worth the money.

if possible I square mine up at the half way point .. makes it much easier to unpick if it is wrong .. and almost guarantees it will be the correct size when finished ..
