Pats block to me
Sorry Pat, I had thought I had popped this on the blog when I received it, but I only got as far as taking the photo. This is the lovely shabby chic star that Pat made me for October, It will go well with my collection of stars that are patiently waiting to be made into a girly quilt - for me of course.

My block to Leona
Leona's request for her block was "flying geese".. after finding out from Leona if she wanted the actual Flying Geese block, or something with flying geese in it, I played with my fabric and "sort of" followed a pattern and came up with this block.
Leona has received this block now, so I am able to post a photo of it.... it turned out so cute that I am now thinking of making a heap of blocks for myself to make a quilt.
Cheers...Jewells

Larrain's Block to Mary in California
Welcome member 37 Robyn- and important notes.
Welcome to member 37 Robyn from New South Wales. Robyn just managed to join up before the mid month cut off point, so I did the swap with her.
Robyn requested Sarah's choice from the quilters cache in light green, baby pink and Crimson. I had some beautiful carnation print that I think works well in this design with the other colours, I hope you like your block Robyn. The green does not show in the photo but its a lovely soft spearmint colour.
Note: any new members that join from the 15th (or thereabouts) in the month has to wait until the following month to do their first swap. This is to stop any partners being under pressure to complete the swaps. (and to give me time to work out and assign the swap partners for the following month).
Swap partners for the group 1 Christmas swap are sent out at the end of the 3rd week of the month (next weekend) followed a few days later by swap partners in the standard Swap.

Thank You!
I would like to thank Cathy, Sue, Maria, Cheryll, Larain, Beth and of course Crafty Pug who I suspect was the instigator of the most wonderful "Quilted Hug" which arrived at my door this morning!
I posted all about it on my blog but I'm sure you ladies are all dying to share your blocks and I'm really looking forward to hearing all about the making process. The course of quiltmaking rarely runs smooth and I love all the stories that go with the blocks (and hugs) that you lovely ladies so thoughtfully sent to me.
OK so now that the secret is out...go for it!!
BTW I just realised I've not taken any painkillers today. What a very powerful quilt!!
Perhaps my surgeon should should take up quilting instead? He's already familiar with hand sewing at the very least...;-P

My first block for my blue & white "china" quilt
I love the freshness and crispness of blue and white, so when my churn dash quilt had enough blocks I had to think of something new. So I chose 2 themes and will leave it up to my swap member each month to pick what they will make for me. One of them I stole the idea from Beth, after seeing all the gorgeous Shabby chic blocks she was receiving. The other is for my love of blue and white china. I have a very small collection of this, and liked the idea of a blue and white quilt - with the theme based on looking like blue and white china. I would like to thank Anne from Canada for her wonderful interpretation of this style - you certainly hit the nail on the head with this block. So now I am on my way. Thank you Anne.

Pats fall colours 9 patch |
I have managed to complete the blocks for my two partners this month, A 9 patch for Pat in Oregon USA in fall (autumn) colours and a wonky star in bright fun colours for Minette. I have to say I really enjoyed making the wonky star from the tutorial, very easy fun block to make. Members will be emailed the link as they are partnered with Minette, but email me if you want to make this block, I am happy to pass it on.
