Isn't it amazing how fast the months whizz by. I hope everyone is having as much fun as me with the swaps , its gratifying to see how lovely friendships form. There are 50 members this month with 46 participating in October swaps. I do allow members that don't want to drop out completely to put their space on hold for up to 3 months as I cap the membership at 50. So if you need a break, let me know you will not lose your spot in the group.
Having said this, we farewell some long term members this month - good bye to Cheryll from NSW (Gone Stitchin) and Leanne from NSW. Cheryll joined me when the group was in its real infancy - I hope that both ladies can return one day to the group.
On a brighter note we also have a few new faces (or names) this month. A big welcome to
Jan from New South Wales
Tanya from Queensland http://simmots.blogspot.com
Linda from Queensland - my guess is these ladies are friends or it could be a coincidence that you both live in the same town.
And before I go, you may recall that I stepped in and helped out Shauna with a grandmothers fan block for Robyn as she was struggling to make this block. In return, here is the beauty that arrived from Shauna this week. we are in the process of building a new pergola for summer and when that is done I wanted to make some lovely bright new cushions for the outdoor furniture - I will be certainly using this block in one of them.

August and September blocks received
Sorry for only posting now but I've been rather busy. This is my August block from Gina in the U.K. It's bright and cheerful. I love it, yellow is my favorite color. Gina must have guessed.
And this is Fiona's block, my September partner. It's a beautiful star in burgundy tones. I really love it and it matches perfectly my other blocks. I hope to make a lap quilt very soon.
I am not a lucky girl?

Spool Block from Brenda Thompson of USA
This amazing Spool Block is made by Brenda. I am hoping that Brenda's 'Storm At Sea' might surprisingly turn up at her door-step. I am sorry that she is kept waiting and we are so, in fact too dependant on the services of the postal services locally and overseas.I am only too happy to do another block for her and has already started preparing the templates for the block. Thank you very much Brenda for doing such a great job, and again my apologice for the lateness of your block.
As I have requested for stripes for the 'threads', I have received blocks with various stripes of sorts and colours and I am loving it. Can't wait to get it assembled in a quilt, soon I hope.

Fresh spring look
As my friends will know (if you have read my latest post on my personal blog) Here
I have made the new one less busy, and I always try to use templates that look a bit crafty, or with fabric.
What do you think of the new look.
Quilted hugs, Sue x
I have too much time on my hands with my sewing machine in the repair shop. So instead of spending a Friday night tucked away in my sewing room, (while hubby watches the footy on tv) I have been playing around with new templates on both my personal and this group blog. Giving both a fresh make over for Spring.
What do you think of the new look.

My August block
Here a bit late the block I received from Robyn Larkin, my August swap partner (my September partner is Robyn too but another one). Very soft and it fits perfectly with my other blocks. Now I have nine and I'm thinking if I'll do a quilt with 9 or 12 blocks, probably I wait a bit more.
Thank you Robyn.
Thank you Robyn.

August block from Nova Scotia via Werribee
Yesterday I was so happy to receive my block from Heather in Nova Scotia. I had received "my" block last week only to discover that poor Heather had put my block in for Vanessa in the Christmas swap and vice versa. Luckily we were able to swap to get the correct one. Both were beautiful blocks but I just love my purple and blue star. Thanks to both Heather and Vanessa

From Australia to France
This month I had two swap partners. This is what I sent to Beatrice in France. She asked for a Strings block in neutrals to tan and so I was able to use some of my favourite Bunny Hill fabrics.
I was also very happy to send a Kansas Dug Out block in pink and green to Billy. Not so far to travel as she lives in Melbourne just like me.

Block from Cathy to Terry
I heard from Terry that my block for August QBSA had arrived safely. Here is the sneak peek I posted earlier.
and here is the full block.
Terry asked for ANY BLOCKS in Grey, Black and Pink. I had so much fun making african violet blocks for the Block Lotto, I decided to upscale and make a 12" one in Terry's colours.

Grandmothers Fan
Shauna was Robyn's partner for July, and was really struggling with this block, so I have made it for her, and in turn Shauna will make something for me.
Robyn is saving Grandmothers fans in creams. I used a cute rose print for the base of the fan, to give it a bit of colour. I think its pretty, I hope Robyn thinks so too.

Block for Dallas
For the month of August my partner was Dallas from Castlemaine Victoria Australia..
Dallas wished for and Autumn star or log cabin
as you can see I chose a star block... I think the camera flash has made the green appear a little to ''limey''...
I do hope you like your star block Dallas...
