I had the opportunity during my year end holidays to complete a few of my quilt tops, and among those is this quilt. Love everyone of those Spools and I thank all my lovely partners for their efforts and great job. Heather Gatti Bobbie Bartlett Brenda Thompson
Crafty Pug Helen Rhodes Sheila Munro
Sue Stubbings Tanya Simmons Shauna Bushfield

P/S Bobbie contributed 2 Blocks, but if you don't see your block here, not to worry, I am saving them later days. Thanks again ladies.

JANUARY PARTNERSHIPS and a NEW SWAP IDEA.
I have just completed sending out the January partnerships.
Our Membership numbers to start 2012 are: 61 with 7 sitting out this month. Melody has the honour of being my double swap queen for this month.
If you are a relatively new member and are interested in doing a double swap on the odd occasion please email me to let me know. I may call on you if
A) We have an odd number of members swapping in any given month and
B) We have new members join up during the month and wish to start straight away.
I try to share this around and keep tabs on who last did the double month so its not the same person all of the time (which includes me). One month for instance we had 7 new members join up, so I was over run with finding partners for all of them.
Secondly I have an idea for a new kind of swap with a difference.
How it will work is I will partner you with a member in the standard swap with someone that will be your 12 inch partner, and as well as sending each other a block, you will also trade a used pattern that you no longer require. I am thinking of trialling this for the March swap, and possibly running it on a seasonal basis. (depending on how well it is received.)
Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer - I will also do it by kinds of patterns each time
ie, bags, softies, lap quilts - you get the idea.
I know that I have a drawer full of old patterns. I have sold the odd few BOM's on ebay, as they do fetch a nice price, but the simpler ones I would rather trade.
If you think that this sounds like a fun add on to a swap email me or pop a comment on this post to join in hte fun in March.

Block for Tarnyia and Last Months Blocks from Erin
Here is my block for Tarnyia. I had two choices. A red star with a blue/aqua background or Scrappy Spiders Web. Well the scrappy Spiders web just scared me as it look a bit beyond my capabilities currently, so I made the Friendship Star instead. Hope she likes it and will be posting in the next couple of days.
And these two are what I received from Erin. I'm so lucky to have got two. Thankyou.

Lucky me - 2 blocks
Helen was my swap partner for November, and struggled with this pattern until she realised that she had misread the instructions.
But how lucky am I, she sent me two blocks. Aren't they great ! The patrern is blazing arrows.

Off to Barcelona
I have not got a lot of sewing done yet this month, having a new grand daughter has taken over this.
But I have managed to get one of my two swap blocks for December made,
this is for Encara who is our new member from Barcelona in Spain. Encara requested the Anvil block in any flowers in red or shades of red on a cream back ground. I will be popping this in the post tomorrow and plan to get to work on my other block this weekend.

Lynda's Block in greens.
Lynda requested a "Card Trick Block" as Beverley was happy with any pattern. Thought her colour choice would also look good in that block pattern.
