a quilt planning

Here are 12 of the 13 blocks that I have received in the yellow black and white mix.  I have laid them out in a pleasing manner in readiness of constructing a quilt top.  I am not sure what to sash them with, I am thinking a solid black may work best.  Or do you think they will look better just joined like they are now?  Feedback welcome.

I have one block left over but it is a little undersized - I will keep this for another project, possibly the centre of a cushion to match the quilt.

ps
After posting this I realised that it is our 1000'th post
wooo hoo.

the blocks look great.... I find it very hard to imagine a sashing and always need to audition mine... but a solid black sounds good

I was just dropping in to see who posted No. 1000 and it was you! I like the idea of black sashing but it will depend on what you would like to be the dominating colour. I would trial black, yellow, grey and white and see what the effect is. What do you think about a peeper border around each in say grey or yellow and then a black sashing and outer border? This is going to look amazing when you're done!

They look lovely together. I think I'd try a grey sashing like Maria, or a grey border around the outside. I like the blocks as you have laid them out - they seem to fit so well so close to one another!

This is lovely. Can't wait to see what you choose to use to finish it up. Please post a finished pic when you get it done. Thanks.
